so. what now?

this one time i was driving, and i started wondering about who a person's soul belongs to... is it the property of the person, or is it god's- on loan, so to speak. perhaps a person's soul belongs to everyone it loves and is loved by, a little piece for everyone. or maybe a person's soul is actually a reflection of the universe, but the entire universe in itself.

this other time i was driving, and i was on a long straight road at the base of dry august hills, when the fabric of the panorama nonchalantly but distinctly turned itself inside out and my mind warped within and around and outside the whole thing. for those 2.86 seconds i was sure that everything in this life is just my projection and that i do not exist separate from the ephemeral perceptions i inhale.

the business of driving is a strange one, at best...

i delight in doing things i should not do. such as:

drink coffee at odd hours, including (but not limited to) 10:28 pm

california stops
instigate
binge drink
flirt relentlessly, as a direct result of the aforementioned activity
bite my nails
pick my nose
call in sick to work for spontaneous lake trips
sarcasm
bake loaves of lemon poppyseed pound cake at odd hours, somewhere in the vicinity of 11:14 pm
purposefully make people uncomfortable
begin projects i have absolutely no interest in completing

this place feels like bubble wrap

daily life... i had never really thought about those words in their entirity....

a precious person recently told me how she misses my presence in her daily life. i had a mini-epiphany, a minipiphany if you will: a person's daily life, my daily life, only exists in the context of a single day. sometimes i get lucky and those single days meld and morph and congeal and extend for some time, and other times they just happen.

once.

sometimes i like to go backwards and meet up with my acorn and tell her to enjoy every instance of daily life. each socratic seminar, every calculus class, all the laughter with the all the people who comprise all the routine of daily life. she laughs naively and tells me to stop being so nostalgic because those moments are all she knows. she is beautiful and i love her.
i should really stop trying to tell her things i know she shouldn't understand.

it's strange how my whole life is shoved into this one small body... it doesn't seem possible for every little piece to fit so cohesively.

that's probably why random fits of screaming and spontaneous laughter feel so relieving.
