a couple nights ago i had a scandalously lurid affair with a piece of chocolate cake and bourbon whipped cream. you could call it a threesome.
the waiter thought i was weird because i kept jotting things into my notebook and then tearing them out. the words were perfect and beautiful, but some things just aren't meant to be reminisced. i took my coffee black.
and then this morning i had an equally illicit tryst with a shitake-tomato-bacon-sweet corn-basil-cream-sauce-omlette. and hasbrowns. damn, do i love a good potato. i opted for sugar and cream this time.
halloween is coming and the wind has an attitude.
there is so much kinetic energy in autumn.

the trees are on fire
pain is a wonderful teacher. if something hurts like hell, we will avoid it at most costs. body parts falling asleep hurts like hell. sitting kindergarten style allows my rather robust ass to cut off the circulation to my legs and feet, and while i am doing it i have the conscious thought "this is going to hurt like hell when i move." but i keep doing it. "why, then, do you continue sitting like that?" you might ask.
i am an idiot. that is why.
and now, as you might assume, my knees, calves, feet, and toes hurt like hell. i am punching the floor and yelling "stop it! owwww! stop it!" i live alone. it's quite a strange sight, i'm sure. good thing i am me and not the poor, confused stranger watching me through the window. though, that would be creepy if there was, indeed, a stranger watching me. at any rate, it's probably a good show.
creepy isn't always bad, though. i am creepy a lot of times. sometimes i am creepy multiple times a day. like when strangers don't understand my humor. or when i sit on ledges and watch people and don't look away when we make eye contact. i hope they call me "that weird girl." actually i hope they call me something like "that weird girl with the really delicious looking leather jacket."
i almost forgot my delicious leather jacket in my psychology class this evening. and this afternoon i for-reals forgot my favorite oak tree water bottle in classroom 126 in taylor hall. good thing i was highly caffeinated and remembered while i was in the library.
i think a library would be a great place to get quarantined.

pseudoscience
i sat with you in silence.
you could have interrupted it
to ask me what my story was
to ask me where i've been
to ask me who i came from.
i sat with you, all selfish with your thoughts.
you could have flicked a few down
kicked them over
just to humor me.
i sat with you in stillness.
you could have paused it
and your worries
and your sadness
to feel the pulse of our reality.
i sat with you, all selfish with your memories.
you could have heaved one forward
brushed it off
just to tell it.
i sat with you in all your secrets.
you could have unwraveled them
sprawled them out in the wet grass
and we could have laid there
existing
just to be.
